IH Vancouver
The University Foundation Program prepares students for college and university studies. It is designed for international students who want to major in business, science, or technology at a Canadian college. Classes are tailored toward the specific need and academic interests of the students. Through individual consultation and learning support, students work on projects and tasks common in Canadian high schools and colleges. There are three main components to the program:
1) language training;
2) academic skills development;
3) content-based classes on selected topics in business and science.
Students develop language and academic skills and have the opportunity to apply their skills by attending a series of electives taught by guest lecturers and speakers with knowledge in selected topics. The UFP program is considered intensive. In addition to class work, students are expected to complete two to four hours of homework each night. The UFP curriculum was developed in
collaboration with Kester Grant College.

Aim of the Program
The University Foundation Program at IH Vancouver aims to achieve to help our students in two ways.
1) Ensure quick and painless entry into the Academic program of their choosing by helping
them improve their English the a point where academic bridging is possible and /or an
acceptable score on TOEFL or IELTS is attainable.
2) Ensure a successful transition to academic studies by using a content-based learning
approach throughout the program.

3 modules to fit with students' career choices
The International House Foundation Programme is designed to ensure that, on successful completion, all students gain automatic entry to a degree course at a top British university.
Through its flexible, modular approach, the programme can prepare students with a wide range of individual academic needs wishing to study a wide variety of subjects - from Engineering or Computing to Business Studies, Accounting and Finance.
All students must complete TWO COMPULSORY MODULES – English and Mathematics – PLUS ONE optional double module. As an integral part of the course students are required to demonstrate key computer-based skills, including spreadsheets and presentations. If necessary, training sessions are provided to help students achieve the ECDL qualification (European Computer Driving Licence).
